So.. Winter is not my favorite season... Not by a long shot... I hate the cold, the ice, the idea of scraping off car windshields in record time to make it to class on time, again, the cold. But there are many things I've come to find that make this season so wonderful in it's own little way :) Here is this year's list :)
1) The birth of the Savior, the reason for Christmas, all the things which Christ has done for me in my life are too numerous to mention, but I will say that I could never have become the person I am, and am trying to become, without the knowledge that he lives, knows me, loves me, and wants me to learn all that I can and so he takes the time to make small and large miracles happen in my life each and every day.
2) Christmas lights and decorations. People are so creative.
2) Christmas/Winter Season music :) I love how it is shunned the rest of the year but the day after Thanksgiving it's free game :)
3) Copious amounts of unhealthy treats and goodies
4) Using my super amazing comforter to keep warm at night. It is a struggle beyond reason to get out of bed most mornings.
5) Nights of sitting by the fire watching movies with my family and friends while drinking hot chocolate and eating yummy foods.
6) My dear friend, Elder Roy, will be coming home very soon after Christmas :) We are so excited :)
7) Next year, my best friend, Curtis, and my other dear friend, Ben will be able to join us for fun winter adventures :)
8) Sledding and dancing in the snow and other fun snow activities.
9) Driving through Pinto Canyon while it's lightly snowing, absolutely beautiful.
10) Helping people set up Christmas lights and doing "Sub for Santa".
11) Picking out gifts for everyone that you know they'll love :)
12) The idea that you're half way through the school year, and you get to miss a total of almost 3 weeks of school.
13) Everyone tries a little bit harder to be nicer to each other and more giving towards people. Always a fun thing to see.
14) Watching the cats find the most interesting places to sleep to try to keep warm. Bubba is currently upstairs sleeping inside a pair of my jeans. What a weirdie.
15) Finding ice to step on to make the "crunch crunch" noise with.
16) Family and friends and the wonderful adventures they take me on all throughout the year :) Thanks for being so loving towards me, keeping me warm when I freeze (many people have no idea how cold I actually get during the winter), and picking me up after I fall on the ice, both literally and figuratively.
There are more specific parts to this, but for now we'll just leave it at this broad and general statement of the things I find cool about the Christmas season.
Merry Christmas!!! :)

Adventures of Abby
Hey there! It's been awhile (a long while) since I've last updated my blog. I'm really bad at this blogging thing. But hey, I don't have a ton to blog about and I only started blogging because of a school assignment. So actually I'm doing pretty good ;) Yay me!
So, my summer came and went pretty fast. Kind of lame, but with what I actually had it was pretty good. I started a Nursing Assistant class on July 13th. Wow... that was a long long long three months. Worth it... maybe. We'll see once I decide I care enough to get a job. I turned 16 on the day after I started the class. Not the best birthday I've ever had, but it was still a lot of fun. And I got my license, best birthday present I've ever gotten. And I also learned to drive a bulldozer. That was so much fun. And I'm not being sarcastic. It's weirdly something I've always wanted to do, and I have great friends with some rocking awesome connections. It was a blast.
I also got a laptop as an early Christmas present right before school started. I don't really need it much yet, but I'm sure I will someday, now it's more of a toy than a tool. But what's so wrong with that? ;)
Now I'm back in school. My Junior year. Haha I thought the last two years of high school were pretty great, this one is killing both of the other two and I'm barely starting the second quarter. I've learned some good stuff this year. I'm learning a lot of medical terminology cause I'm taking the medical terminology class. It's kind of fun to be able to break down diseases and diagnoses and surgical procedures and know what they mean. I'm also taking a welding class. See, when I got into high school I decided I wanted to go outside the "norm" and take a few tech classes just to have some interesting skills that I may never use but they aren't difficult classes to get an "A" in, or I may use them every day, either way, win win. But it has been a lot of fun and I've learned a few things since taking that class. For example, sparks can burn through tennis shoes, and shirts when your welding jacket is not properly closed. Oh what an exciting life I live. I'm also taking Chem 1010, which is a blast. It's a little bit difficult, but not nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be and I have a great teacher who can explain things really well, and we do some really fun labs too.
Halloween was fun. Some friends and I came to my house and had pizza and played a bit and then we went and walked up and down Main Street. It was pretty cold, but I had a lot of fun. Wow.. It's hard to believe it's November already. I'm excited for the upcoming holiday season and 2010. I'm sure it'll be a great year.
I hope to blog at least once before 2010, but who knows if that will actually happen. So I'll say this now, I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving and a merry Christmas and a happy new year! Toodles!

Learning From Life. Every Ending's a New Begining
Alright, thanks Dana. You've corrupted me. I've decided to continue the blog. At least for now.
So in the past school year I've been learning a ton about myself and other people and how the world around me works. And all I can say is... Wow... I wish I were a 3 year old again. Their lives seem so simple and adventurous and they dont have to worry about the annoyance of every day life. I do love life though and I try my hardest to find joy in the journey. Sometimes it's hard to find that joy but it's there. It just all depends on how willing you are to find it. I've been slowly learning how to get along with others, and get through hard situations with them (the past few weeks I haven't used very much grace in that department though...) I've been learning a lot about my likes and dislikes and my goals and the things I want to accomplish throughout my life. Mainly my high school and teenage years. This past year has certainly memorable, in both good and bad ways. I don't think I've ever cried so much in my entire life (again, in both good and bad reasons) than I have in the past year. I am grateful to everyone that helped me through the past year, even the people I barely got to know, you made an impact. And I'm so grateful for you. This sounds like the sappiest, dumbest thing ever, I'm aware. Well.... I'm technically a Junior now... I was kind of sad to see the end of Sophomore year. I had a lot of fun. I met some way cool new friends, sadly, lost some others. I had some wonderful classes and I really did start to develop a deeper love for learning. I love cars, especially older ones. Everyone has feelings, and they can get hurt easily. It's ok to be different, and the people that think you're dumb because of it aren't worth your time, you're not going through life to please them, you're going through it to become the best you you can be. I learned how to be a little bit more independant, and I'm slowly getting closer to becoming an actual adult (meaning responsible for yourself). I learned how to fill out forms and make phone calls to people to ask about/for things (something I've feared grately for quite some time). I made a quilt! I always thought quilting was so stupid but my mom said I had to make at least one quilt before I died and I did it and it was so much fun and I love it! I've learned that your friends can help you get through anything. No matter where they are. I don't know (or even want to think about) where I'd be without my Bella, Colton, Curtis, Cameron, Ben, Shelby, Whitney(s), Dan, Elise, Mamma, Dad, Holly, Parker, Karisa, Erika, Cody, Jake, Shay, Kevin, Ethan, and all my other friends too numerous to mention. I love you all. Thank you so much for everything. (Thanks Dana for pushing the blogging idea. Happy now?) I've learned lots of other things too but this entry is long enough so I'll leave it at that. But here is a quote to kind of sum it all up: "Sometimes nowhere leads to somewhere, but it's not over till it's over, every endings a new begining." -Jason Reeves

We'll go with.... What I'm Doing Over Summer Break
Ok so summer break is coming up (not soon enough) and apparently it's supposed to be pretty fun. In June I'm (hopefully) going to Illinois to party in Chicago and Nauvoo. Then at the end of June I have youth conference... Yippy. I have a big two day hike down a mountain somewhere in between all that. I turn 16 on July 14th and will hopefully get my licence on my birthday. And girls camp is the week after that. My cousin is getting married in August and so I'll be going up to Salt Lake for that. Those are the big events and then there will be smaller ones to attend as the summer rolls on. I'm excited.

Cat Pee
So I've been peed on by many things (Lizards, guinea pigs, little boys... etc). But Saturday night I was playing with my brothers and some friends and my cat jumped on my lap. Well my brother decided he needed to vacuum because he had a lady interest coming over. So he thought it'd be funny if he snuck up on the cat while he was sleeping and put the vacuum up to him and turn it on. Well when he did that my cat didn't pull out his claws and run away like most would. He just simply sat there... and I felt something warm on my lap.... The flipping cat peed on me!!!!!!! So anyways, the moral of the story is, dont let your cat go to sleep on you when there is a vacuum cleaner near by. You will be peed on. Then you have to do a bunch of laundry and thats not fun.
New Discoveries
(Sorry, I have to do 5 blog entries for my assignment so I'm thinking hard)
Some of my new discoveries lately have been kind of interesting. Thought I'd share.
I've noticed that when a thicker cell phone is put on its side on a table and vibrates it sounds like a moose. I found that to be pretty cool.
Ok, so my email account is wacked out and when I get an email at say... 3:34 pm it will say I got it at 7:00 am so usually when I see that I've gotten several new emails I'll send my email a text so that I can see when the other ones actually came. Well I have myself as a contact on my cell phone cause its not fun to type in an email address every time you want to send your email a message and I dont remember my phone number half the time. So I sent myself a "hello" and I didn't realize that I had sent the message to my phone rather than my email so my phone rang and I looked at the text and it said it was from me and it said "hello". Needless to say I was very confused and it took me a minute to realize and understand my mistake. I laughed at myself a lot afterwards.
That was probably the most pointless story in the world but it had to be told. :) If anyone actually took the time to read that I thank you sincerely.

Spring Break
Last week was spring break. It was pretty cool. I got to stay up until around midnight most nights (translation: I could keep my eyes open until about mindight) and sleep in until 9:30 on most mornings and that rocked.
Wednesday I tried to steam all the glue off of my bedroom walls from the wall paper that had been there since the dawn of time. It was exhausting, boring, and messy. I've decided I hate wall paper and will never mess with it again.
Thursday I got to go to the temple down in St. George and that was so awesome. Afterwards, we went to a nice little Mexican restaurant which had way good food... But it took 40 minutes to get to me...
Friday was more taking glue off of walls and making a square foot garden in the back yard, which sucked cause we had to do a lot of terracing and building wood boxes. But it is a cute little garden area and I'm proud of it.
Saturday my parents took me to St. George again and I got some new tennis shoes and some fabric for a new lap quilt. We'll see when that actually gets completed though.
And Sunday was Sunday. Happy Easter. I got candy and that of course rocked. I hope everyone else's Easter rocked too.
