Finally Time To Update The Blog!

Hello! It's finally time to make one of my twice yearly blog entries! There is a bit to update about so lets get started!

Junior year is almost over!! It FLEW by! I've even been able to get a peek at my schedule for my senior year already. I've already got homework for the summer in my AP English class. Crazy stuff. I'm taking lots of fun classes next year and I'm way excited :) I hope my senior year won't be as psycho nuts as this year has been. This last semester has been absolutely ridiculous and I wouldn't wish it on anyone (I am serious when I say that).

I got called to be 1st councilor in the Laural presidency in my ward about three weeks ago. 

I have kidney stones... And they hurt like freaking beasts! I hate them! I have two that I know of... I got diagnosed with them back in March but they still haven't passed and the little mean things have been acting up like crazy the past week and they hurt 100x worse than they did before! My Chem1010 teacher and my daddy call them my babies. Apparently I sit really funny when they are hurting me. By the way, once your teacher says that you're having babies to all your class it's really hard to convince the kids that you are NOT pregnant...

My brother, Clayton, got a Wii! It is super fun! And I really don't like video games very much. I like to play the sports game that comes with the system and Mario Kart and this game where you play mini games with a bunch of rabbits... It's hilarious! If you have the means I highly recommend picking one up.. (Ferris Bueller)

Finally....

My brother, Dan got his mission call! He has been called to serve in the Eugene Oregon Mission! He leaves August 4th! He is such a fun and wonderful brother and I'm so happy for him! My brothers are my best friends in the world and I am so excited for Dan to start this new adventure! He's going to make an amazing missionary! He is very happy about this call and super excited! He is also very happy that Oregon has gold fish crackers to snack on and he will not have to rely on me to send them to him! :) What a silly boy!

Christmas Break

Hello all!
Happy January! I can't believe it's 2010 already! 2009 went by so fast!
My Christmas break was wonderful. I did so many fun things :) It started a little early, about 2 class periods early to be exact. I got done with my first two classes and went home for lunch and my brother, Dan, asked me if I wanted to go with him and his friend, Matt, to pick up Dan's girlfriend, Shelby (she lives about 40 minutes away). So I asked my mom if I could and she was okay with it (I have such a cool mom). So we went out there and got her and on the way back we started talking about weird towns. Matt brought up that a town called Monica was only about 20 minutes away. I asked him if we could go see it (apparently it's for sale). So we took the detour and went out to Modina. The road there is long and Matt went 100 on it. It was the first time I've ever gone that fast in a car. How fun! We got there and Matt decided he wanted to check out the "hotel" (it's old and broken and made of wood...) so while he was doing that I hopped into the drivers seat and decided to drive clear across town (not even a block away) and hide from him :) I almost got the car stuck in mud on the way back to pick Matt up (he got chased by a dog). That was such a fun adventure to start out Christmas break.
That night Dan had a Christmas party and all his friends came over and spent the night playing games and watching movies. I quickly threw together some muddy buddies and rice crispy treats. It was a fun night. I went upstairs to bed around one though, most everyone else made it all night.
Dan and I went to St. George with my dad the next day and went Christmas shopping.
Sunday my mom got released from being the Young Womens president. She's been president for about 2 1/2 years. It was kind of an emotional day. She's had a lot of fun with us. But she got called into Relief Society to be a teacher. But I'm excited about the new presidency, they seem like they're going to be a lot of fun.
Our friends Kyler, and Holly came back to town to spend time with family on the 23rd. We were all kind of having a bad night, or at least everyone was really tired. Holly, Kyler and I had taken off in one car, and everyone else was at my house. Well Holly was noticing she couldn't find her phone, and then it called me. I answered it and it was Ethan. He gave me a riddle and told me to go where the riddle told me to. Well it was something that basically led me to the circle of dead guys at SUU. There was a funny note there that said in order to retrieve the phone we would have to follow the clues and answer the riddles to the location of the phone. We were so in! We went all around Cedar, we even had to go to Maverik at one point and sing a song for our friend who works there to get the next clue. Eventually the chase ended at Carl's Jr at about 11 at night (we started the race at 8 or so) what a fun night! :)
Christmas Eve we did puzzles all day. My family has this thing that over Christmas break we do all the puzzles we can. All total we usually do about 5000 pieces of puzzles (about 4 or 5 puzzles). It's so much fun. We watch all the Christmas movies while doing it.
Christmas was great. I got a lot of neat presents. I got a repelling harness, I'm so excited. And some cooking equipment, some tools, candy, and a new coat and new boots. I got a laptop in August so that was a lot of my present. Then Kyler and I went around town looking at cars (he rolled his on the black ridge coming up from California) and catching up. It was really nice. We parted and just when I got home Cameron called us. He's serving his mission in Switzerland. He is actually coming home on Monday. We're all so excited. Matt came over to talk to Cameron and he had Christmas dinner with us. Kyler came back over and we all went and saw Avatar. I thought it was pretty good. But my favorite movie for 2009 is still Star Trek.
The next week consisted of adventures with friends and studying. I have big tests coming up this month.
New Years was fun. We had a bunch of friends all come over again for an all nighter, this time Shelby brought one of her brothers, and her mom met my parents. We watched a movie and played games and watched the ball drop. I went to bed about at about one again that night, I was sick. But it was a lot of fun for what I got to see of it.
So in a lengthy but watered down version, there was my Christmas break. I had a blast. It ended soon, but I am glad to get back to school.
I hope that everyone else's break was fun too! :)

Winter Season

So.. Winter is not my favorite season... Not by a long shot... I hate the cold, the ice, the idea of scraping off car windshields in record time to make it to class on time, again, the cold. But there are many things I've come to find that make this season so wonderful in it's own little way :) Here is this year's list :)
1) The birth of the Savior, the reason for Christmas, all the things which Christ has done for me in my life are too numerous to mention, but I will say that I could never have become the person I am, and am trying to become, without the knowledge that he lives, knows me, loves me, and wants me to learn all that I can and so he takes the time to make small and large miracles happen in my life each and every day.
2) Christmas lights and decorations. People are so creative.
2) Christmas/Winter Season music :) I love how it is shunned the rest of the year but the day after Thanksgiving it's free game :)
3) Copious amounts of unhealthy treats and goodies
4) Using my super amazing comforter to keep warm at night. It is a struggle beyond reason to get out of bed most mornings.
5) Nights of sitting by the fire watching movies with my family and friends while drinking hot chocolate and eating yummy foods.
6) My dear friend, Elder Roy, will be coming home very soon after Christmas :) We are so excited :)
7) Next year, my best friend, Curtis, and my other dear friend, Ben will be able to join us for fun winter adventures :)
8) Sledding and dancing in the snow and other fun snow activities.
9) Driving through Pinto Canyon while it's lightly snowing, absolutely beautiful.
10) Helping people set up Christmas lights and doing "Sub for Santa".
11) Picking out gifts for everyone that you know they'll love :)
12) The idea that you're half way through the school year, and you get to miss a total of almost 3 weeks of school.
13) Everyone tries a little bit harder to be nicer to each other and more giving towards people. Always a fun thing to see.
14) Watching the cats find the most interesting places to sleep to try to keep warm. Bubba is currently upstairs sleeping inside a pair of my jeans. What a weirdie.
15) Finding ice to step on to make the "crunch crunch" noise with.
16) Family and friends and the wonderful adventures they take me on all throughout the year :) Thanks for being so loving towards me, keeping me warm when I freeze (many people have no idea how cold I actually get during the winter), and picking me up after I fall on the ice, both literally and figuratively.
There are more specific parts to this, but for now we'll just leave it at this broad and general statement of the things I find cool about the Christmas season.
